- A former president of state-owned Banco do Brasil, a major Latin American bank. Lima became bank president in 2003 when he was appointed to the position by Brazil's president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Lima succeeded Fernando Henrique Cardoso.
Cássio Casseb Lima was born in 1955 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He began his career with Banco de Boston in 1976 while earning his bachelor of science degree in engineering from the University of Sao Paulo. As his career progressed, he moved through a number of financial institutions, including Banco Francês & Brasileiro, Banco Mantrust, Grupo Vila Romana, Citibank and Credicard. He has also served on the board of directors of Sadia, Brasilprev, Aliança do Brasil, Localiza, Vicunha, Banco Fibra, Solpart and Marisa.
